Carl Correns und die Mendelsche Vererbung in Deutschland zwischen 1900-1910
Abstract
“Carl Correns and Mendelian Heredity in Germany between 1900 and 1910” by Hans-Jörg Rheinberger (German language) Hans-Jörg Rheinberger analyzes Carl Correns’s role in establishing Mendelian heredity in Germany between 1900 and 1910. Correns appears not only as a rediscoverer of Mendel, but as an experimenter working within a wide-ranging botanical landscape. Xenia, linkage, sex-linked inheritance, gynodioecy, and variegation became means of productively testing the scope and limits of Mendelian heredity.
