Explaining Foreign Policy Change: The Role of Transnational Non-state Actors in the Syrian Civil War
Abstract
Foreign policy change deals with the shift – major or minor, in a state’s foreign policy. The parameters that account for such a change are understood in terms of their nature (structural or conjunctural) and origin (domestic or international). Existing literature is inadequate to explain international conjunctural parameters in understanding foreign policy change. Most of the existing research concentrates on state as the unit of analysis.
