Abstract

In the Leningrad Region, the ground beetle Amara plebeja occurs mainly in fields of perennial and annual grasses and along field margins. Adults of this species feed on the reproductive organs: seeds and flower parts of weed plants. For the first time, adults of A. plebeja have been recorded feeding on the maturing anthers of gramineous weeds.
