Abstract

In the modern world, effective pest management requires robust systems for early detection and warning. In the Russian Federation, Rosselkhoznadzor and the Federal State Budgetary Institution “All-Russian Centre for Plant Ouarantine” (FSBI VNIIKR) implement the provisions of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) at the national level, regularly publishing information on regulated quarantine pests (ROPs) as well as organisms classified as priority pests and others. To facilitate data collection during forestry monitoring surveys, the TreeAlert system has been developed and is maintained. For monitoring surveys targeting Phytophthora infestans and Alternaria spp., different versions of the BlightTracker system are used, including a desktop version and a smartphone application. To improve access to pest risk analyses (PRAs) within the EPPO region, the EPPO Platform on PRAs is maintained. In addition, the Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International (CABI) provides access to its educational programmes through the CABI Academy.
