A CRITICAL EXAMINATION OF THE CORRELATION BETWEEN CARBON EMISSIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL DETERIORATION, AND ITS IMPACT ON PUBLIC HEALTH
Abstract
The rising pace of global industrialization and urbanization has placed carbon emissions at the centre stage in contemporary conversations regarding global environmental sustainability and human health. Carbon dioxide and related greenhouse gases, primarily from fossil fuel combustion, deforestation, and negligent industrial operations, drive large-scale ecological degradation. This degradation assumes different forms, including air and water pollution, ecological system degradation, global warming, and increasing incidents of extreme weather events. All these processes have potential effects on public health, producing a connecting tissue between environmental instability and human diseases that are becoming even more prevalent in recent times. This research critically examines the linkage between carbon emissions, environmental degradation, and their impact on public health. This study further explores how ecological deterioration as a result of emissions is seen as having undesirable health impacts across populations.
