La poética de la disidencia en Cristina Peri Rossi
Abstract
Cristina Peri Rossi (Uruguay, 1941), winner of the Cervantes Prize in 2021, is a fundamental author of literature in Spanish for her poetic, narrative, and journalistic production around the topics of sexual-affective dissidence, exile, and its criticism of modernity. However, the treatment of these thematic axes and her formal experimentation in her writing confirm a constant displacement of the canon of her time. In this article, I propose the diachronic analysis of her lyrical work to trace the concept of dissidence from a broad spectrum that crosses the sexual affective. I also focus on the relationships with power from the war discourse, the environmental dimension, and the literary canon. I resort to the theoretical approaches of Alberto Buela, Michel Foucault, Jonathan Dollimore and Paul B. Preciado to propose a poetics of dissidence as an ethical and aesthetic praxis that runs through the Uruguayan author’s poetry.
