Abstract

The Internet age has transformed people’s daily lives in a variety of settings. Its evolution has brought changes in the modes of production, consumption and visibility of goods. Art and literature have also embraced this and continue to embrace its constance evolution. The literary world, and in this case children’s and young adult literature, has also been adopting communication theories in the conception of texts, writing, and reading mediation. Changes in communication and its most recent theories, such as the theory of hipermediality, allow for the incorporation and interrelation of other content in other media. Currently, children’s and young adult literature is no exception to this phenomenon, especially because its brings whit it ideal readers: children and young adults who have been digital natives for some time now and are acquiring other reading skills from a young age.
