Tiresias como cuerpo fantástico: intersexualidad y reescritura disidente del mito griego en Edipo: nadie es ateo de David Gaitán
Abstract
In David Gaitán’s reworking of the myth in Edipo: nadie es ateo (2018), Tiresias emerges as a “fantastic body” that destabilizes the binaries of gender, knowledge, and fiction. This article analyzes the character’s ambiguous corporeality as a liminal figure embodying sexual and epistemic dissidence. Drawing on Todorov, Barrenechea, and Morales, the fantastic is approached as a semantic hesitation in the face of the unintelligible; through Palmeri, the mythic rewriting is examined as a subversion of the canon that opens space for non-normative subjectivities. Finally, from the perspectives of Anzaldúa and Preciado, Tiresias is interpreted as a border body that unsettles the sex/gender regime and disrupts the coordinates of authorized knowledge. Their ambiguity does not aim for resolution but sustains a critical fissure from which to imagine alternative ways of inhabiting the stage, identity and myth.
