Abstract

Rural breast cancer survivors are more likely to be physically inactive and experience worse quality of life than nonrural breast cancer survivors. There is a need to increase reach and access to exercise oncology evidence-based programs in rural settings because persistent physical inactivity may contribute to disparities in long-termcancer outcomes (e.g., survival) and health-related outcomes (e.g., quality of life) among rural breast cancer survivors. This pilot study will provide preliminary data on the effectiveness of a hybrid exerciseoncology evidence-based intervention (in person and virtual delivery) and an implementation strategy to justify a larger-scale trial to improve the speed of knowledge and translation of exercise oncology evidence into rural settings.
