Abstract

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation into Ukraine, according to official data, about 7 million Ukrainian citizens have left our country abroad. The lack of proper communication with Ukrainians abroad, including those who left because of the war, creates the prerequisites for the loss of sustainable social ties with them and a decrease in the potential of the population of the Ukrainian state, which will pose a threat to its stable existence. The problem of establishing effective social communications with Ukrainians abroad in the conditions of their forced departure (migration) due to the Russian-Ukrainian war becomes important, primarily for the state institutions, especially in the context of the necessity of establishing and maintaining stable relations with Ukrainian migrants, preventing their assimilation and acculturation in foreign countries and facilitating the return of Ukrainian citizens to their historical homeland. The objectives of the scientifical research: to analyze the structure and the available materials on the situation of Ukrainians abroad who left the country due to the Russian-Ukrainian war; to investigate effective ways of communication with citizens of Ukraine abroad as an integral part of the Ukrainian state; to analyze the threats and challenges that exist in connection with the acculturation/assimilation of Ukrainian citizens abroad; to conduct a study of the content of the media communication space dedicated to the problems of Ukrainians who were forced to move abroad during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
