Eyes in All The Skies: investigation and dissemination of immersive simulation on human-drone interaction

Eyes in All the Skies is intended to research the intellectual value and pedagogical impact of a highly-interactive simulation activity involving the use of drones (or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles — UAVs). We have previously developed, delivered, and studied this simulation and received extremely positive feedback from students about the impact of hands-on, immersive games as pedagogical tools. We propose to study it by expanding its adoption to other colleges and universities, allowing us to assess the efficacy of this exercise on a variety of campuses and contexts. We also aim to stimulate and embed deeper humanistic inquiry into STEM and non-STEM education using experiential and active-learning pedagogies.
