Joseph Hatton to Richard Piggot, 13th October 1882. IE TCD MS 9386/1341
Abstract
IE TCD MS 9386/1341: Letter from Joseph Hatton, 14 Titchfield Terrace, Regent's Park, London to Richard Piggot dated 13th October 1882 referencing his books: "Thank you very much for sending me the Dixie pamphlet. I shall send it direct to my editor. I have more than once mentioned your excellent book in the N.Y. Times. And more than once upbraided myself for not answering a letter you wrote me sometime ago. The truth is I was out of town when it reached me; it remained with some accumulated correspondence & has been laid aside to be "properly answered" with [?]. You know what becomes of such letters. At the same time I did not neglect to make the suggestion at [hand?] [?] which you put to me & the reply [?] enough [?] me this week - that they have a correspondent at Dublin. I shall mention today that you are kind enough to send me the pamphlet confidentially."
