Abstract

IE TCD MS 9377/1061: Letter from Michael Davitt, St. Justin's, Dalkey, Co. Dublin, Ireland to John O'Leary, dated 12th May 1906 referencing his health: "I am much obliged to you for your kind inquiry about me. I am improving slowly, but as I have to undergo a third operation in a private hospital in Dublin early next week & as this will doubtless give me another set back I cannot say when I am likely to be quite well again. I was glad to hear from Mr. Alfred Webb, that you were in new quarters, and were very well looked after. Your references to [Mr.?] O'Brien as a historic lunatic give a very apt description of his political antics. For the last three years I have condsidered him a hopeless ego-maniac. If I get well again I shall call and see you some day for a good long talk..."
