Abstract

IE TCD MS 9376/1037: Letter from Michael Davitt, St. Justin's, Dalkey, Co. Dublin, Ireland to Reverend John Roche Ardill dated 10th December 1905 thanking him for a copy of his book: "Many thanks for a copy of your book and for the inscription on the fly leaf. I have nearly read it through and I must congratulate you on the dignified tone you have adopted throughout and on the absence of all sectarian bitterness such as most Protestant writers on Ireland have invariably displayed. I hope the book will have a good circulation and that it will stimulate other historical students, to pursue further inquiries into the same field of forgotten facts..." Recovered by Mrs. Mary Davitt.
