Abstract

IE TCD MS 9376/1033: Letter from Richard O'Ryan [Risteárd Ó'Riain], 21 William Street, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary [21 Sráid Liam, Cluain Meala], to Mary Davitt in response to Mary's call for letters written by her late husband Michael: "In response to the request contained in your letter which appeared in last Friday's "Independent", I beg to inform you that I hold two letters which I had the honour of receiving from your late husband. I do not know whether or not they would be of any value to you for the purpose of the biograpy: but I enclose copies of them, so that you may judge for yourself. Should you decide to make use of them, it will give me the greatest pleasure to send you the original MS. as soon as I hear from you..."
