極低温環境下における繊維強化複合材料の疲労特性評価
Abstract
The development of lightweight liquid hydrogen tanks necessitates the use of resin-based and fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) composites; however, critical challenges remain, including the design of vacuum-insulated double-wall structures, the suppression of hydrogen permeation, and the assurance of mechanical reliability under cryogenic conditions. In this study, the strength characteristics of orthotropic FRP were systematically investigated through mechanical testing at both room temperature and in liquid nitrogen, complemented by fracture surface analyses to elucidate failure mechanisms. The results clarify the influence of cryogenic environments on FRP strength, providing essential knowledge for the material and structural design of next-generation liquid hydrogen storage tanks.
