Abstract

This dataset supports the study “Anisotropic heat runways in stretchable composites via magnetically guided sequential multi-filler alignment for thermal management in soft electronics.” It contains the processed experimental and image-analysis data underlying the main and supplementary figures of the publication, including thermal, electrical, mechanical, and microstructural characterization of magnetically aligned nickel–elastomer composites fabricated via B, BA, AB, and ABBA processing routes. The data comprise quantitative measurements of through-plane thermal conductivity, in-plane and through-plane electrical conductivity, Young’s modulus, and strain-dependent thermal performance, together with microstructural descriptors derived from Fourier transform and chord-length analyses. These microstructural metrics include PSD anisotropy ratios, orientation order parameters, orientation entropy, characteristic column pitch, column width, and inter-column spacing as functions of nickel particle size and volume fraction. The scope of the dataset spans structure–property correlations in anisotropic thermal interface elastomer materials, enabling evaluation of how magnetic alignment and liquid-metal bridging influence directional heat transport, electrical insulation, and mechanical compliance. The data are provided in tabulated numerical form and are suitable for replication, comparative analysis, and modeling of anisotropic transport in soft composite systems.
