Correlation of Praman Shareer with Samanya–Vishesha Siddhant in Ayurveda
Abstract
Ayurveda, the ancient system of medicine, encompasses a broad range of philosophical concepts and medical principles designed to maintain and restore health. Two important concepts within Ayurveda include Samya-Vishesh Siddhant (the Doctrine of Specific Similarity) and Praman Shareer (the body as the means of valid proof ).These principles are interrelated in understanding the diagnosis, treatment, and validation of health through the physical body.Samya-Vishesh Siddhant refers to the idea that certain specific features or qualities, when present in the body, can be indicative of a particular state of health or disease. It emphasizes the correlation between similar and specific attributes and their impact on the human body.On the other hand, Praman Shareer is a philosophical concept that positions the human body as an ultimate source of valid knowledge and evidence regarding health status. This article explores how Samya-Vishesh Siddhant connects to Praman Shareer, providing insights into Ayurvedic diagnostic methods and therapeutic strategies.
