Environmental Footprint of Coatings for Steel Structures
Abstract
Sustainability is now integral to coatings strategy, with advanced paint technologies delivering superior corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. Activated zinc-rich primers, in use since 2014, can offer efficient galvanic protection and enhanced durability. Recent real-world and accelerated testing confirm that they can outperform conventional solutions.1 Sustainability scorecards2 highlight their minimal environmental impact and long-term performance, positioning activated zinc coatings as a top choice for sustainable corrosion protection.
