Data from: Warming modifies trophic impacts of invading shrimp with impact varying among primary producers
Abstract
The data originate from a 30-day mesocosm experiment using a 2 × 2 full factorial design (n = 10 replicates per treatment, 40 mesocosms total), manipulating water temperature, 14°C ambient vs. 19°C warm, and the presence/absence of the invading shrimp, Palaemon elegans. The dataset is distributed across four CSV files, all connected by the common identifier column 'tank'. The 'Mesocosm_data_2024' file provides the biological variables, including algal biomass (g), chlorophyll a concentration (µg/), amphipod biomass (mg), and amphipod abundance counts. The 'shrimp_measure' file contains the initial and final shrimp biomass (g) used to calculate percent weight change. Daily environmental data, specifically temperature and dissolved oxygen, are provided in 'ShrimpMesocosms2024'. Finally, the 'zooplankton_measures' file provides abundance counts for three zooplankton taxa: copepod, cladoceron, and rotifer.
