Abstract

This dataset includes information on the historical (mid-to-late 1800s) and existing (2016) extent of coastal sand dunes in California, as well as the main drivers of loss and change over time. Information on the location and elevation of key dune features (i.e., toe and crest) recorded at 30-m intervals along the entire California coast is also provided.
