Abstract

This dataset presents, for all individuals identified in the study, the consensus sequence obtained after reading the three amplification replicates. The alleles of the 19 microsatellites loci are provided in the columns, as well as the number of observations for each individual per year of sampling. This dataset allowed us to assess the genotyping success of Alpine rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) fecal samples in relation to sampling conditions. It also enables us to provide a set of recommendations aimed at improving genotyping success and ensuring the quality of the results, while optimizing the costs of such a study.
