Abstract

Glacial and proglacial landscapes provide critical sources of water and solutes to downstream riverine and marine ecosystems. This dataset contains samples from the dominant landscape types in the Nellie Juan River basin, collected from surface streams, groundwater, rain, and snow. Water samples were also collected from streams near the Exit, Gulkana, and Kennicott Glaciers. Snow samples were collected in conjunction with the USGS Benchmark Glacier Program at Wolverine and Gulkana Glaciers. Samples were analyzed for a broad suite of geochemical constituents including common field parameters, major ions, acid neutralizing capacity, stable isotopes of water, nutrients, metals, dissolved organic carbon, dissolved organic matter fluorescence and lability, and in some cases carbon age. Incubations were run on a subset of samples.
