Creating an Educational Tourism Product for Dissonant Heritage in Forlì
Abstract
The ATRIUM Association explores the urban and architectural heritage of totalitarian regimes, a ‘dissonant’ legacy that contrasts with contemporary values. In Forlì, Mussolini sought to create a model Fascist city, leaving significant traces of that era. Transforming this heritage into a tourism product while ensuring critical preservation and public education is a challenge. The ATRIUM and DEINA Associations developed a best practice: a gamebook that engages young people in informal education. Local students played a central role in shaping the gamebook, working alongside local associations to co-construct this educational tool.
