Abstract

This research analyzes the role of health consulting in the regulation of health services in Brazil, within a context of increasing regulatory complexity. The research problem guiding this study was to understand how the work of health consulting firms contributes to legal compliance and improved quality of health services. The initial hypothesis considered that qualified consulting firms act as strategic facilitators in adapting to sanitary requirements, promoting agility, safety, and sustainability for establishments. The main objective was to analyze this contribution and, as specific objectives, to identify the activities performed, the challenges faced, and the benefits resulting from consulting work. To this end, a narrative literature review was conducted using the LILACS, PubMed, and SciELO databases, in addition to the analysis of official documents and books. Thirty articles were selected. The analysis was based on renowned authors and reports from Anvisa (Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency). The results indicate that health consulting is essential to ensure regulatory compliance, optimize institutional management, and promote sustainable practices. It is concluded that the role of health consultancies is strategic for the excellence, safety, and sustainability of health services in the current scenario.
