Abstract

This research explored the relationship between innovation in technology and entrepreneurial intentions regarding emerging economies based on data obtained from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) database. More precisely, it focused on how people’s perceptions of innovation, via new product and process development, as well as social attitudes create an intent to participate in entrepreneurial activities. Data were collected from a total of 851 Omani adults through the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) survey 2023–2024. The data were analyzed using SPSS for descriptive and correlation statistics, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was conducted in SmartPLS 4 to test and model the proposed framework. Findings showed that perceived innovation and entrepreneurial intentions had positive relationships—both were significantly correlated, while social attitudes moderated the relationship. The results contributed to theoretical and practical implications. Keywords: Innovation, Technology, Business Creation, Intentions, Non-Entrepreneurs, GEM, Oman
