An Exploration Into the Nature of Curiosity
Abstract
This thesis introduces a bold new conceptualisation of curiosity based on principles from quantum cognition. The work resolves a long-standing division between the experiential and epistemic aspects of curiosity, by proposing they form a unified phenomenon where accessing one influences the other in a quantum-like way. Not only does the research present a unified model for the first time, it establishes a new direction for theoretical and empirical exploration into the fundamental nature of curiosity.
