Human-Centred Design Framework for the Design of Wearable Devices for Home-Based Rehabilitation of Shoulder Movement
Abstract
This research develops a Human-Centred Design (HCD) framework to support interdisciplinary experts in designing wearable devices for home-based shoulder rehabilitation. The framework fosters the development of interdisciplinary relationships by integrating design, engineering, and physical therapy expertise into a cohesive development model. The HCD framework contributes knowledge to the design field by providing a structured process that integrates interdisciplinary knowledge and outlines steps for applying HCD in the development of home-based wearable shoulder rehabilitation devices. This research is expected to support design innovation in wearable shoulder rehabilitation devices, promoting improvements in device quality and supporting ongoing advancements in home-based rehabilitation technology.
