Abstract

The article highlights the results of a study of the epidemiological status of ticks removed from animals and collected from the environment in control areas of the Ternopil region during 2021-2025.Ixodes ticks are temporary external parasites of terrestrial, mainly warm-blooded, vertebrates. The trophic relationships between ixodids and vertebrates are generally very broad and cover almost all systematic and ecological groups of terrestrial mammals and birds.Ixodes ticks of the species I. ricinus, D. reticulatus, and H. plumbeum are considered pasture species and are found mainly in areas where livestock graze.According to the results of a study of 39 ticks in the laboratory using polymerase chain reaction, collected from animals and obtained on a flag, it was established that 31 ticks belong to the species Dermacentor reticulatus and 8 ticks to Ixodes ricinus. It was established that in 2022, 2023 ticks were collected in the control area of the Ternopil region, which was 1.7 times more than in 2021.The ticks were removed from 20 dogs, 2 cows, and 1 tick was obtained on a flag. The number of ticks of the species D.
