Abstract

The article is devoted to the theoretical substantiation of pedagogical approaches to the formation of translation competences in future translators in the context of higher education. The relevance of the study is determined by the increasing demands of the modern translation services market for professionally trained specialists capable of performing translation activities effectively under conditions of intensive intercultural communication and the digitalization of the professional environment. In the article, translation competence is considered as an integrative professional construct that combines linguistic, communicative, sociocultural, strategic, cognitive, and technological components.Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign scholarly sources, the key pedagogical approaches to the formation of translation competences are identified and characterized, namely the competence-based, activity-based, communicative, contextual, reflexive, and technological approaches. It is highlighted that each of these approaches performs a specific function in the system of professional training of translators and is aimed at developing particular components of translation competence. It is proven that the isolated application of individual approaches does not ensure the holistic formation of professional readiness of future translators. The article emphasizes the expediency of integrating pedagogical approaches into a unified methodological system, which enables bringing the educational process closer to real conditions of translation activity, increase students' motivation, and develop their autonomy, responsibility, and ability for professional reflection. It is concluded that the comprehensive combination of pedagogical approaches contributes to improving the quality of translation education and training competitive specialists capable of acting effectively in the modern intercultural environment.Prospects for further research related to the study of intercultural and psychological aspects of translation activity are outlined.
