Abstract

In the context of the systemic financial, economic, social and political crisis caused by prolonged military confrontation, active hostilities and the annexation of significant Ukrainian territories, the economic and social consequences of the war, substantial losses of human capital, a decline in the real sector of the national economy and the level of socio-economic security of economic entities. The challenging conditions in Ukraine necessitate a timely response to destabilising factors, the prevention of their negative impact, an assessment of the quantitative parameters of the war's impact on the national economy, society, and citizens, and the highlighting of the need to find optimal ways out of the crisis. The methodological basis of the study includes general scientific and specialised methods, comparative analysis, a structural and functional approach, and logical generalisation.Subsequently, analysing current socio-economic trends, the article identifies several gaps in existing approaches to human capital management. It is worth noting that these approaches do not fully account for the realities of wartime. The findings highlight the need to develop adaptive, flexible and inclusive human capital management mechanisms aimed at mitigating losses, enhancing the resilience of the labour market in wartime, and creating conditions for post-war recovery and sustainable development, as well as the need to apply new tools to support human potential and implement psychological assistance and rehabilitation programmes.Preserving human capital for Ukraine's post-war recovery is a critical task. This requires new approaches to the utilisation of human capital, taking into account current trends in its development and global experience in human resource management under conditions of instability. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using the proposed conclusions and recommendations in the development of state policy and strategic programmes for Ukraine's economic recovery.
