FEATURES OF DISTANCE LEARNING FOR FUTURE MILITARY SPECIALISTS
Abstract
The article is devoted to identifying the peculiarities of organizing the educational process in higher military educational institutions of Ukraine in the conditions of full-scale war, in particular, the introduction of distance learning for training military specialists in various specializations at different locations. It highlights the main structural components of education in higher military educational institutions (HMEIs), among which the military context requires a rethinking of traditional approaches to training, given security threats, the mobility of cadets and teachers, air raid alerts, infrastructure destruction, and communication instability. In wartime, distance learning has become not only an alternative but also the only option for education. The need for distance learning is also driven by global changes in education, particularly the development of digital technologies and cybersecurity.Blended or fully distance learning ensures the continuity of the educational process, the mobility of participants, and access to electronic resources such as video lectures, online libraries, testing, web resources, information technologies, etc.It is desirable for all participants in the educational process to have face-to-face training, but this is not always possible. The positive aspects are the individualization of training, flexibility of pace, and the involvement of cadets in international educational projects. However, distance learning is accompanied by difficulties such as limited access to the Internet, lack of practical classes, and psychological pressure due to hostilities.Motivation decreases due to the lack of live interaction with teachers, which can impair the assimilation of material. In military universities, a blended learning model has been proposed to minimize negative effects, where theoretical modules are taught remotely and practical classes are held in the form of short-term sessions or using virtual simulators. This model allows for the peculiarities of military training and the specifics of wartime conditions to be taken into account. Our experience shows that, when properly organized, distance learning can not only ensure educational continuity but also increase the effectiveness of cadet training. The use of interactive platforms and digital tools allows for high results to be achieved even in wartime conditions.
