PSYCHOAESTHETIC METHODOLOGY IN BROW ART EDUCATION: A FRAMEWORK FOR TRAINING BEAUTY PROFESSIONALS IN FACIAL HARMONY, CLIENT PERCEPTION, AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
Abstract
Training in brow art is one of the most rapidly expanding segments of the beauty-education market, yet it is predominantly organized around technique -shaping, mapping, tinting and lamination -while the psychological and aesthetic dimensions of the work remain largely outside the curriculum. The relevance of this article is determined by the gap between the technical proficiency that brow courses reliably produce and the broader competence required to alter a client's face responsibly: an understanding of facial harmony and anatomy, of the way a change in the brows reshapes self-perception, and of the ethical and communicative standards that protect the client. The purpose of the article is to present an authorial psychoaesthetic methodology for brow art education -a framework that integrates facial harmony, anatomy and symmetry, client perception, realistic expectations, professional ethics and standardized assessment into the training of beauty professionals. The framework has been developed and refined through more than five years of educational practice since 2017, including the training of more than three hundred students and the delivery of over twenty masterclasses, and is grounded in the established literature on facial attractiveness, body image, and the pedagogy of professional skill. The methodology is structured around interlocking modules that extend conventional technical instruction with the analysis of facial proportions, the psychology of client perception, consultation and expectation management, professional ethics, and a competency-based assessment № 12(26) 2023 851 system that evaluates both the technical and the psychoaesthetic quality of a master's work. The article describes how the methodology is applied to prepare specialists, to evaluate the quality of students' and practising masters' work, to structure masterclasses, and to transmit a psychoaesthetic approach to other professionals in the field. It is argued that incorporating psychoaesthetic understanding into brow education raises the standard of the profession and reframes the brow master as a practitioner whose work affects not only appearance but also the client's psychological wellbeing.
