Sanayileşme ve Kentleşmenin Çevre Kirliliğine Etkisi
Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of industrialization and urbanization on environmental pollution. Industrialization and urbanization, as the basic dynamics of the modern world, have led to significant changes in social, cultural, economic structures and the environment. In particular, the intensification of industrialization and the acceleration of urbanization have increased carbon dioxide emissions, which are among the leading environmental problems. This article focuses on the effects of industrialization and urbanization on carbon dioxide emissions. Environmental pollution, which is a major global problem, hinders economic growth, increases poverty and inequality, poses risks to human health and contributes to climate change. The social, economic and environmental aspects of areas or regions undergoing rapid urbanization based on industrialization have been transformed, and these areas have become more vulnerable to environmental pollution, especially air pollution. In this study, the relationship between the factors of “Gross Domestic Product”, “Patent Applications of Regional Residents”, “Urban Population” and “Exports of Goods and Services” per capita in Turkey, which affect environmental pollution, is investigated using the data obtained from the World Bank for the period 1990-2020.
