Abstract

Generation Z has unique characteristics that require special attention in human resource management. Creating an engaging work environment that considers individual, organizational, and societal factors plays a crucial role in enhancing employee commitment. This study aims to analyze the influence of sustainable Human Resource Management (HRM) on the commitment of Generation Z employees through the mediation of Work-Life Balance (WLB) and the moderation of Tri Hita Karana cultural values in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bali. The study respondents consisted of MSME employees in the food processing sector. The results show that sustainable HRM mediated by WLB has a significant effect on employee commitment. In addition, the influence of WLB on employee commitment is strengthened by Tri Hita Karana cultural values. These findings confirm that the implementation of sustainable HRM is not only relevant for large companies but is also important for MSMEs in increasing the commitment of Generation Z employees by considering local cultural values. Although globalization and technology bring new perspectives on local wisdom, Balinese culture still plays an important role in shaping work-life balance and enhancing employee commitment.
