Zagrożenia bezpieczeństwa i porządku publicznego na terenie województwa podkarpackiego po 24 lutego 2022 r.
Abstract
The research presented in this article is motivated by the scale of the refugee influx, which has become a challenge to the state security system and local communities and a source of concern about rising crime. The subject of the study is threats to public safety and order in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship after February 24, 2022, in the context of the mass migration of Ukrainian citizens to Poland and the impact of their presence on crime rates and public safety in the studied region. The research subjects are Ukrainian citizens who have settled or transited in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The aim of the article is to analyze and assess the impact of the mass migration of Ukrainian citizens after February 24, 2022, on the state of public safety and order in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The main problem is formulated as the following question: To what extent did the migration of citizens from Ukraine after February 24, 2022, affect the level of crime and the sense of public safety in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship? The research hypothesis assumes that the mass migration of Ukrainian citizens has contributed to the increased involvement of foreigners in crime in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, which has negatively impacted public safety and order. The research utilized comparative analysis methods based on statistical data from the Police, Border Guard, and the Central Statistical Office from 2019-2023. The study's conclusions indicate an increase in the involvement of foreigners, including Ukrainians, in crimes as both victims and perpetrators.
