Abstract

Ethyl cellulose and Eudragit RL – 100-based sustained release hydralazine hydrochloride microspheres with a lower dosing frequency were the focus of this study. Materials and Methods: The Hydralazine Hydrochloride -loaded microspheres were formulated by Non-Aqueous Solvent Evaporation Method. A 32 factorial design was employed to study the influence of drug: Polymer ratio on percentage entrapment Efficiency, particle size, and % Yield. Results: The entrapment efficiency was found to be 85.34%, %yield 79.8% and particle size 200μm. Conclusions: Drug: Polymer ratio had significant effect on % entrapment efficiency, particle size, and % yield. The Prepared Microspheres can also be incorporated in Capsule, Transdermal patch, gel and other suitable Dosage forms to obtain the Desired therapeutic Effects. The Prepared Formulation will be more Patient Compliance compared to other Standard Dosage forms for Antihypertensive medication available in market.
