Abstract

Rabies endures as a significant global public health problem, with India carrying a disproportionate burden of the illness. Despite breakthroughs in medical research and the availability of effective vaccines, rabies continues to claim thousands of lives annually, with children being particularly vulnerable. This paper stresses the function of Quality Control (QC) for controlling rabies in India through analyzing the quality of vaccines offered by different manufacturers. It also underlines the crucial need for widespread education, comprehensive preventative measures, and enhanced access to post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) to safeguard vulnerable people. The development and availability of safe and efficient vaccines, hold promise for rabies prevention. Additionally, effective regulatory frameworks, led by organizations like the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), supported by multiple pharmacopoeias, play a significant role in guaranteeing the safety and efficacy of vaccinations.
