This review examines the current clinical evidence regarding ginger’s efficacy in treating various health conditions, its mechanisms of action, and its safety profile. The review synthesizes findings from randomized controlled trials (RCTs), meta-analyses, and observational studies, focusing on ginger’s role in managing nausea (especially in pregnancy and chemotherapy), pain (in osteoarthritis and muscle soreness), inflammation (in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis), metabolic disorders (such as type 2 diabetes and obesity), and chronic diseases (including cardiovascular diseases and cancer).Ginger’s active compounds—gingerols, shogaols, and zingerone—have demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiemetic, and analgesic effects, contributing to its therapeutic properties.
