Lintel with Agnus Domini, Arcidosso
Abstract
Carved stone lintel with carving of Agnus Domini. Via Voltarella, Arcidosso. Related with San Leonardo church, this symbol on a 14th century lintel, possibly indicates that the building was used as an hospital or as a charity place. The decoration has been associated to the medieval hospital "Spedale De Trabe Donati" documented in the 13th c., although archaeological analysis did not confirm the dating. With reference to the stratigraphy of the architectural complex centered on San Leonardo church, this carved stone is more correctly dated to the first half of 14th c. [source: M.
