Soul Theory™: The Universal Soul Ledger System: White Paper v3.0 (2026)
Abstract
Soul Theory™: The Universal Soul Ledger System is an original interpretive white paper by Falian Wanlin. It presents a modern structural model for understanding life records, moral causality, karmic continuity, post-mortem review, rebirth, vows, and spiritual responsibility through selected scriptural clues preserved in Buddhist texts. This work does not function as Buddhist evangelism, sectarian doctrine, or religious promotion. It is an independent theoretical framework that uses contemporary language to organize and explain recurring scriptural motifs such as consciousness, the Co-born Spirit, records of wrongdoing and merit, karmic judgment, the forty-nine-day post-mortem period, rebirth according to karma, hell, repentance, vows, and the transformation of future karmic pathways. The central model defines the soul as the continuing subject of consciousness, containing an internal recording layer identified in Soul Theory™ as the Soul Ledger. This ledger is understood as an intrinsic, non-external record structure that preserves choices, actions, intentions, karmic traces, and moral responsibility. The paper further proposes a layered system consisting of the Soul Ledger, the Karmic System, and the Cosmic Order System, explaining how individual records, karmic seeds, collective conditions, destiny, and consequences may be understood as interconnected processes. The white paper also introduces Falian’s Causal Seed Model, expressed through the sequence: Choice → Karma → Cause → Karmic System → Destiny → Result Within this framework, karma is not treated as a vague religious punishment, but as a traceable structure of choice, consequence, responsibility, and transformation. The paper emphasizes that original causality cannot be erased or rewritten, while future conditions, karmic pathways, and modes of maturation may be transformed through repentance, cultivation, good actions, discipline, vows, and altruistic responsibility. This version also includes discussions of one cause producing multiple results, hell as a field of karmic retribution, the Ten Precept Observance Days as periodic karmic review nodes, the forty-nine-day post-mortem period, the distinction between wish-making and true vows, and the human realm as a uniquely important field for moral correction, awakening, and transformation. Scientific and phenomenological comparisons, including near-death experiences, life review, terminal lucidity, and conjoined-twin cases, are discussed as interpretive parallels rather than scientific proof. These comparisons are included to open future interdisciplinary research possibilities while preserving the paper’s methodological boundaries. Soul Theory™ is not presented as a final religious doctrine or a completed scientific theory. It is offered as a structured interpretive model for readers, researchers, and future interdisciplinary inquiry into consciousness, moral causality, responsibility, memory, death, rebirth, and the deeper meaning of human life.
