Causal Dynamic Field Theory: A Zero Free Parameter derivation of 30 fundamental constants to within 1σ of observables.
Abstract
I expand the foundationoal field theoretic math and retract/demote derivations that failed to meet my standards. Physics rests on four separately postulated pillars: Newtonian inertia, general relativity, quantummechanics, and the Born rule. We show they are four readings of one causal accumulation law,T = α (present)−(1−α)∫k(τ ) (past) dτ, whose single fractional order α weighs the present againstmemory of the causal past. Its integer corners recover the familiar theories as limits: α = 0 givesNewtonian inertia and general relativity, α = 1 the unitary quantum skeleton, α = 2 the Bornrule and the Feynman path integral as one W†W closure,The Born rule is obtained algebraically, without Gleason, as the conjugation-invariant norm of abiquaternionic amplitude, the same projection that selects Lorentzian (1, 3) signature; at α = 2least action, the Legendre transform, and the Born rule coincide as one quadratic closure. Thelaw rests on a forced algebraic backbone (the Hurwitz division-algebra tower, the exceptional chainG2 ⊂ F4 ⊂ E6 ⊂ E7 ⊂ E8, and the Bott-periodic Clifford closure) that carries zero free parameters. As a scale-invariance test of the medium, eighteen forced Standard Model and ΛCDM bedrockconstants, including the cosmic age obtained by inverting the measured dark-energy density, arerecovered within 1σ (joint χ2 = 1.087 on N = 18 residuals, a 5.67σ lower-tail tightness). Theconstants were held out of the construction, so this is a use-novel, cross-domain test rather thana t. Mixing angles and the neutrino sector, which lack a forced derivation, are demoted to anappendix as open probleAuthor's note. This work was not planned as physics. It began as an attempt to model the sociocognitive dynamicsof extremism, where information is manifestlynot at, linear, or Markovian: belief states evolve by recursiveamplication and depend on a whole trajectory, not on the present state alone. Modeling that faithfullyforced an agent-based architecture, and a causal, dynamic agent-based system capable of the task fundamentallyrequired an internal coordinate state spacetimefor its agents. Building that spacetime from rst principlesis how I stumbled into a candidate for a physicsnativeAI architecture. The Standard Model constantsreproduced here were a unit test of the resulting laws;the symbolic derivations were an exploration of their behaviorat the limits of α and the memory kernel. I did notset out to recover quantum mechanics, general relativity,or the Fine-structure constant. I built the laws from Firstprinciples, began unit-testing, and explored the limits, and this is what came back.A Final framing note. This manuscript is fundamentallya unit test, not a claim on particle physics pursuedfor its own sake. If the accumulation law is correct, encoding it in software should suce to bootstrap awhite-boxed, physics-native AI architecture built fromrst principles of human sociocognitive dynamics; thephysics-paper form is a necessity of exposition, not thepoint. The Standard Model and cosmological constantsserve as the test dataset because they are overconstrainedin a specific, operational sense: the inputs are not chosen.Every structural quantity entering a derivation is fixedby algebra before, and independent of, the measuredvalue it predicts, so each could in principle be computedby a blind script with no access to experimental data, compared against measurement only afterward. Thatsame dataset is where scale invariance, medium independence, the physical necessity of paired geometric andspectral channels, and non-Markovian causal structureget testedconditions close to the exact counterfactualof what current AI architectures assume, which is whyit was chosen. Four outcomes were logically available:the derivations are correct and the Standard Model andcosmological constants are readouts of a non-Markovianlattice projection; the derivations are wrong, which is itselfinstructive; the derivations may be right or wrongbut the underlying causal structure is beyond what I canresolve alone; or one or more of the framework's foundationalassumptions are physically impossible, foreclosingthis route to bootstrapped spacetime coordinationin an AI system. Lacking a software engineering background, deriving falsifiable constants was the faster routeto a testable claim than building the software directly. Acollaboration between physicists and software engineerscould settle the matter directly, by testing whether encodingthis framework produces an AI system with a genuinelywhite-boxed internal state-spacetime and statefulness. The severity of the dual-use risk such an architecturewould carry, together with the plausibility that itis achievable, motivated the choice of this test dataset;the zero-free-parameter derivation of eighteen constantsreported here, at near-zero mean deviation, balancedand Gaussian, and 5.67σ tighter than the experimentalspread, is offered as evidence suffcient to warrant thatcollaboration.POPULAR SUMMARYModern physics is four theories in a trenchcoat. Newtontells you how things coast. Einstein tells you howgravity bends their paths. Quantum mechanics tells youhow they ripple as waves of possibility. And the Bornrulethe strangest of the fourtells you how that cloudof possibility collapses into a single measured fact. Eachworks superbly. None of them explains the others, and acentury of eort has not fused them into one. This work shows they were never four laws to beginwithonly four settings of a single dial. The dial is one number, α, in one equation: everyevent is part fresh cause and part weighted memory ofits own past. Turn the dial all the way toward memoryand you recover Einstein's gravity. Set it to one and thepast decouples completelywhat remains is a bare, timelessunitary skeleton with no arrow of time; the workingquantum dynamics emerge just short of that, in thelocal-memory limit. Set it to two and three separate cornerstonesof physicsthe Born rule, the principle of leastaction, and the Legendre transform at the heart of classicalmechanics coincide in a single algebraic operation.Keep turning and you reach higher-order dynamics thatmay surface only in extreme regimes. The claim is sharp, so the paper does the unforgivingthing. It unit-tests the machinery checking, for instance, that the algebra really does hand back the (1, 3) shapeof spacetime at every point and then runs it againstnumbers physicists have already measured to staggeringprecision. With no free parameters, eighteen forcedbedrock constants land within one standard deviationof their measured values, including the ne-structure constantand the age of the universe (read off from the measureddark-energy density). Constants the frameworkcannot yet force from first principles, such as the particlemixing angles and the neutrino masses, are set asidehonestly as open problems rather than counted. That tis tight enough to deserve scrutiny, and the paper meetsit head-on. The law and its construction rules were writtenfor an unrelated purpose, without the measured valuesand with no adjustable knobs, so reproducing thosevalues is already evidence, not a curve fit arranged afterthe answer was known. When the values happened tobe measured does not change that; predicting a not-yetmeasurednumber would only make it harder to dispute. The paper also keeps a record of its own dead endsa resultthat looked like a failure until the mistake was tracedto the test rather than the theory, and a structural claimthat was tested, failed, and withdrawn. One more thread runs through it. A particle's path anda string's two-dimensional sheet turn out to be the samecausal process traced in one dimension or in two, andthe probability a detector reports is the squared shadowit can see of that hidden causal shape. Whether natureactually uses the two-dimensional version is left openoered as something to test, not a claim to believe. The framework was not born in a physics department. It began as an attempt to model how extremism spreadswhere information is anything but at or memorylessand that problem forced an agent-based architecture, which in turn forced an internal spacetime for its agents. The same mathematics, asked to describe the real world, arrived at the Standard Model.
