Supplementary material - The influence of dipolar interactions on the critical dynamics in nickel
Abstract
Supplementary material - The influence of dipolar interactions on the critical dynamics in nickel This upload of Python scripts and therin used resources serve as supplementary material to the publication "The influence of dipolar interactions on the critical dynamics in nickel". The upload contains: Python_code/: The Python script files to reproduce figures 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, which were created using this code. Python_code/res:The resources, meaning reduced data from the beam time, numerical values from theory calculations and data of previous measurements, which is referenced in the manuscript. Python_code/modelmiezelb & Python_code/dipferromagtheory: A copy of Python packages used in the data analysis process inkscape/: The inkscape-SVG files which are the source of figures 2 and 7. rawdata/: Raw NICOS data files acquired at RESEDA. Description of individual scripts and resources 01_qT_diagram.py creates the Figure 1 of the paper. 03a_contrast_fit_panels_double_column.py creates Figure 3. The script requires a working installation of modelmiezelb (hash: b55736e64c6cf6c9151d8951c0a37b510a34f808). It loads the parameters extracted from fitting the contrast data, calculates the respective model curves in time and energy domain. 04_spin_wave_dispersion_plot.py creates Figure 4. The script requires a working installation of modelmiezelb (hash: b55736e64c6cf6c9151d8951c0a37b510a34f808). The script requires a working installation of the Python package dipferromagtheory, which is uploaded here. Specifying the selected_model = MX parameter analyses the dispersion data with respect to M1 to M6 as explained in the paper. 05_dynamical_scaling_above_Tc.py creates Figure 5. The script requires a working installation of modelmiezelb (hash: b55736e64c6cf6c9151d8951c0a37b510a34f808). The dynamical scaling function for $T > T_\mathrm{C}$ is calculated from the data and compared to the theory of Iro and Résibois & Piette. 06_spin_wave_scaling.py creates Figure 6. The script requires a working installation of modelmiezelb (hash: b55736e64c6cf6c9151d8951c0a37b510a34f808). The dynamical scaling function for $T < T_\mathrm{C}$ is calculated from the data and compared to the theory of Schinz and Schwabl. 08_qD_modelling.py creates Figure 8. The script visualizes the table Table 1 for $\mu = 0.3407$. res/ contains the resources such as data and fit results that are used in the figures created by the Python scripts. modelmiezelb/ contains the Python package caluclating the contrast values based on a model of the lineshape function and auxilliary functionality. dipferromagtheory/ contains the Python package for calculating the Holstein & Primakoff dispersion of a dipolar ferromagnet and the functionality for convolution with instrument $Q$-resolution. Notes for re-use of the code: Descent knowledge of the Python programming language is required to use the scripts! Support can be provided upon reasonable request. Adjustments need to be made in the scripts to run them successfully: The directory for storing the rendered graphics need to be defined: path_to_save_at = Path('...') The python packages distributed with this material need to be accessible for import functionality of Python. Remove the code loading specific mplstyle files: mpl.style.reload_library() mpl.style.use('...') Adjust the path to the res/ directory in the section of the scripts dedicated to loading data. Description of raw data files The following folders contain the raw data files created by the instrument control software NICOS that is operated at the instrument RESEDA. Every folder corresponds to a specific temperature at which the raw data was acquired. Inculded is also the resolution measurement and the background measurement. Background Resolution Tcm2: $T_\mathrm{C} - 2\,\mathrm{K}$ Tcm1: $T_\mathrm{C} - 1\,\mathrm{K}$ Tc: $T_\mathrm{C}$ Tcp1: $T_\mathrm{C} + 2\,\mathrm{K}$ Tcp2: $T_\mathrm{C} + 2\,\mathrm{K}$ Tcp4: $T_\mathrm{C} + 4\,\mathrm{K}$ Tcp8: $T_\mathrm{C} + 8\,\mathrm{K}$
