Research Libraries as Data Hubs
Abstract
Research libraries as key partners for reliable knowledge in the digital age: challenges, opportunities and recommendations. Reliable knowledge is an essential public good for science and the future prosperity of our society. How can research libraries as custodians of reliable knowledge be strengthened in the face of accelerated digital change? And how must they evolve, in light of current developments in automation, big data, and artificial intelligence, as fundamental research infrastructures? Against this backdrop, the Swiss Science Council SSC identifies in its report the specific challenges that research libraries face as their remit expands, and provides corresponding recommendations.
