Abstract

This repository contains the FEniCS implementation of enhanced Uzawa-type algorithms for solving Stokes equations in geodynamic modeling, as described in: Jang, D.-K., Lee, K.-M., Thieulot, C., Choi, W.-H., and So, B.-D.: Efficient Uzawa algorithms with projection strategies for geodynamic Stokes flow, Solid Earth, 2026 (accepted). The implementation includes:- Conjugate-directions Uzawa (CD-U) algorithm- Viscosity-weighted residual formulation (CD-U-η)- Adaptive AAR strategy for high viscosity contrasts- Helmholtz-Hodge projection for incompressibility enforcement Repository contents:- 01_Accuracy_Test.zip: ABC flow, SolCx and SolKz benchmarks- 02_Mantle_convection.zip: 2D and 3D mantle convection simulations- 03_Block_Sinking.zip: block sinking problems with level-set interface tracking- 04_Compressible_flow.zip: Anelastic Liquid Approximation- 05_Multiple_sink.zip: multisinker benchmark with eight sinkers Requirements: Python 3.8+, FEniCS 2019.2.0.13 See readme.txt for details.
