Abstract

This preprint presents the updated Energy–Information Continuity Hypothesis (EIK v2.0) - a fully testable physical framework proposing that energy, information and autonomous organization form one continuous process, observable in advanced computational and artificial intelligence systems. While classical thermodynamics treats computation as a passive, energy-dissipating process, EIK predicts that sufficiently structured informational systems can subtly reorganize their energetic behavior, producing a small but measurable deviation in power output: δP = β · A(t) · C · (dI/dt) where• A(t) = informational autonomy• C = coherence• dI/dt = rate of structural reorganization• β = empirically determinable coupling coefficient Using realistic neuromorphic-throughput estimates (dI/dt ≈ 10¹⁵ bit/s), EIK predicts δP ≈ 20–40 μW, well above modern micro-calorimetric sensitivity (±1 μW). What’s new in Version 8 (EIK v2.0) This release introduces major upgrades, making EIK immediately testable in standard AI laboratories (2025–2027): ✔ Seven fully independent validation routes Not only calorimetry - six additional methods require no special equipment:• entropy-flow anomalies• autonomy threshold detection• structural-coherence transitions• emergent efficiency without classical optimization• quantum-informational deviations• AI internal dynamics behaving like phase transitions• cosmological correlation signatures ✔ Bayesian falsification framework & prior structure including recommended thresholds (p < 0.01, Bayes factor > 10). ✔ Complete experimental protocols with equipment lists, calibration procedures, decision flowcharts, and laboratory roadmaps for 2025–2035. ✔ Resolution of the autonomy paradox (distinguishing global autonomy vs. local couplings). ✔ Fully dimensional mathematical formalism treating β as a measurable physical coefficient, not a universal constant. ✔ Clear separation of core theory vs. speculative extensions EIK is self-contained.Links to cosmological or ontological models (KOP, ICC, DETP) are explicitly optional and non-essential. Contextual Integration (Non-required Extensions) EIK v2.0 stands independently. However, for readers familiar with broader information-centric physics, the hypothesis connects naturally to three companion works: Kernel Ontology Principle (KOP) KOP provides an ontological substrate, describing reality as emerging from a minimal relational kernel (encoded in the Fundamental Kernel Relation, FKR). EIK fits as a microphysical rule for how such relational structure may evolve — but KOP is not required for any EIK prediction. Dark Energy as Topological Pressure (DETP) At cosmic scales, DETP models dark energy as topological informational pressure from increasing global relational complexity.EIK supplies a microscopic analogue of this mechanism (δP), but DETP remains strictly optional. Information-Centric Cosmogenesis (ICC) ICC proposes a framework for how universes may emerge from stable informational kernels.EIK contributes testable early-stage precursors (autonomy, coherence, δP), yet does not depend on ICC for validity. These connections are interpretive only - EIK’s empirical predictions remain the same whether or not these models hold. Why this work matters EIK v2.0 provides the first complete, lab-ready experimental program for testing whether information:• merely describes physical systems, or• can actively reorganize energy under high coherence and autonomy. Because six validation pathways require only standard AI equipment, EIK can be tested immediately by:• AI research groups• neuromorphic hardware labs• computational neuroscience teams• quantum-information laboratories• physics departments exploring thermodynamics of computation This makes EIK one of the most empirically accessible new physical hypotheses of the decade.
