Abstract

This dataset contains geospatial data used in the study: “Understanding slow glacier flow under climate change: A case study on Vernagtferner, Austria”by Theresa Dobler, Wilfried Hagg, Martin Rückamp, Thorsten Seehaus, and Christoph Mayer https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2025-2513 The datasets are the result of multiple previous other studies and measurement campaigns. They are provided here in an accessible form. The origin and futher information on the individual datasets are documented in Appendix A (Data overview) of the associated study. All data uses the EPSG: 32632 (UTM 32N) coordinate system and describes the galcier Vernagtferner, Ötztal Alps, Austria. DEM_.zipDigital Elevation Model (DEM) representing the glacier surface at different times. glacier_bed_2006Glacier bed topography estimated through radar measurement in 2006. . glacier_outlines.zipGlacier outlines defining the spatial extent of Vernagtferner for the respective reference periods. UAV.zipOrthoimages derived from UAV- measurements.
