The ERDA Book – Democratic Evolution: Strategy, Ethics and the Future of Europe
Abstract
Release 2.5.0 – Democratic Knowledge Released: 12 May 2026Channel: stable release Release 2.5.0 deepens the normative foundations of the ERDA Book. At its centre is Democratic Knowledge, a seven-principle reference document for democratic agency: power, dealing with non-democracy-willing states, peace and security, truth and deception, democracy itself, technology and AI, and the inner condition of a democratic society. The release also integrates conceptual papers and implementation material into the book: a guiding vision for raising children in freedom and responsibility (§11.3.7), a strategic reflection on the Mosaic Principle and democratic DSN resilience (§5.8.4), the Anti-Game-Over Principle as Appendix P.1, CIVITAS Public as Appendix P.2, and a deepened Chapter 6 on CIVITAS as Europe's democratic digital infrastructure. It also adds Appendix M as a measurable book-project yardstick for release criteria, source standards and open project decisions. Highlights Democratic Knowledge reference material in German and English. New chapter section §11.3.7 on child-rearing in freedom and responsibility. New chapter section §5.8.4 on the Mosaic Principle and democratic DSN resilience. New Appendix M: Measure – measurable book-project decisions and release criteria. New Appendix P.1: Paper – Childhood, Adulthood, and the Anti-Game-Over Principle. New Appendix P.2: Paper – CIVITAS Public: Building a European Digital Agora. Deepened Chapter 6: CIVITAS as operational democratic digital infrastructure. Worker-roles ethics-before-strategy pass across the ethical foundations and strategic security chapters. Normalized DE/EN content frontmatter and translation mapping metadata. Publish artefacts rebuilt with gitbook_worker 2.9.2; quality gate passed with warnings and no blocked or fail findings.
