Abstract

Summary This release upgrades The Human Mark (THM) reinforces the epistemic formality of the framework. The canonical specification has been restructured to embed the Common Governance Model (CGM) derivations directly into the core definitions, eliminating ambiguity in governance terminology and hardening the epistemic boundaries of the framework. Changed Canonical Specification Upgrade: The canonical Mark block has been restructured. Alignment Principles now explicitly include the CGM axioms (Preservation of Ancestry), and AI Safety Risks now formally state the epistemic impossibility of absolute displacement. Displacement is precisely defined as the "loss of measurement of ancestry." Terminology Alignment: Removed ambiguous uses of "source" and "origination" across the corpus. Standardized on Direct/Indirect for canonical classes, Base/Derived strictly for dependence relations, and constitutive dependence / ancestry for identity framing. Ontological Consistency: Extended the Base/Derived dependence relation explicitly to Agency (as Base/Derived class subjects), resolving an asymmetry where it was previously only applied to Authority. Formal Grammar & Notation Consolidation: Standardized governance flow notation across all documentation and regulatory guidance to a single canonical form. Corrected the PEG grammar and reference parser to properly validate composite tags and standalone risk expressions, removing ungrammatical operators from operational guides. Structural Reorganization: Separated Alignment Principles (the constitutive conditions) from AI Safety Risks (the failure modes) in the canonical text to improve semantic clarity for both human readers and AI tooling.
