Abstract

This repository contains the released version of the EcoPlot-iso ecohydrological model, together with the model input data, observational datasets, external climate index data, and figure plotting scripts used in Jiang et al. (2026), Communications Earth & Environment, DOI: 10.1038/s43247-026-03729-z. EcoPlot-iso is a process-based, isotope-enabled Soil–Plant–Atmosphere Continuum (SPAC) model designed to quantify water partitioning, soil moisture dynamics, soil water isotope dynamics, groundwater recharge, and vegetation water use at the plot scale. The repository includes: EcoPlot-iso model code. Model input data, including daily climate forcing, LAI time series, site-specific model setup files, and other input data required for the simulations. DMC observational datasets, including soil moisture observations, soil water isotope data, streamflow observations, groundwater level time series, and monthly aggregated precipitation, potential evapotranspiration, and P–PET. Monthly North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) index data. Figures and scripts used to generate them in the paper. These datasets and scripts support the reproducibility of the published analyses, model calibration, figure generation, and cross-scale analyses linking local ecohydrological responses in the DMC catchment to large-scale atmospheric variability. All data and scripts are provided in standardized formats and are consistent with the analyses presented in Jiang et al. (2026).
